Understanding and Managing Inappropriate Sexual Behaviours and Sexual Deviance

This is a one day classroom training.

There are many reasons why individuals with disabilities and/or other cognitive impairments may engage in inappropriate sexual behaviours. Understanding the difference between inappropriate sexual behaviour and sexual deviance is critical in determining appropriate supports, education, risks, and possible treatment. This full day training will provide participants with the skills and strategies to manage inappropriate sexual behaviours;

  • Functions of sexual behaviour
  • How to promote healthy boundaries
  • Healthy sexual expression
  • Recognizing more serious sexual behaviours that place others at risk.
  • Safety planning, education, supports,
  • Strategies for decreasing risk

 

Help promote healthy boundaries and sexuality while managing risky behaviours in the home and community.

 

Participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
