“SMG has allowed our clinicians to learn and incorporate proactive approaches in behavioural management. Clinicians are more focused on prevention and are better prepared to safely manage risks on a daily basis. SMG ‘s approach values the importance of developing a strong therapeutic alliance in managing a behavioural crisis.”
“Safe Management Group has provided code white and de-escalation training to our hospital staff for many years, and continues to be a great resource tool in the protection of our staff. Their philosophy and approach aligns with our organization’s values of respect and collaboration and with our workplace violence prevention policies. The trainers are knowledgeable, interactive and always professional. Our staff come away from training with a significantly improved readiness and self-confidence when managing behavioural situations. We had the opportunity to work closely with Safe Management Group to implement a hybrid training model with an online and hands on training approach during the COVID pandemic. This was all new for our organization and Safe Management Group was flexible and knowledgeable about how to set this up for success and are with us the whole way through.”
“Safe Management fits with the agency philosophy and programming needs. The overall program including the theory, principles and physical interventions is important to safely and effectively work with acquired brain injury individuals.”
One reason for our selection at the time was SMG’s knowledge of and compliance with the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (formerly the Child and Family Services Act, 1990) and their involvement with our community partners, school boards and Ministry representatives.
However, for selecting SMG was and continues to be how their philosophy and approach aligns so closely with our agency’s vision and values (as reflected in our emergency and violence-prevention Policies and Procedures). TVCC’s vison of “Our Clients at Their Best” emphasizes a family-centred approach where parents and caregivers know their children/youth best and are actively involved in treatment and interventions. SMG’s broad understanding of risk management and their focus on prevention leads agency staff to use techniques and strategies that reduce the chance of any aggressive behaviour to occur. Our staff can confidently use their clinical skills knowing they have the necessary crisis prevention training to work with children and youth who have excessive behaviours.
“Safe Management has been a great tool for prevention and protection for our staff and children. I have been through several crisis prevention and intervention programs for working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Safe Management does the best job of balancing and prioritizing both client and staff safety of any program I’ve been through.”
“Niagara Catholic District School Board has been working with SMG, over the last few years, very successfully. They provide a variety of services from consultation to direct training. This partnership has enhanced the quality of programming for our students within the school board. SMG staff are very knowledge and professional and always work as a team member with NCDSB staff.”
“As a key component of our Workplace Violence Prevention program, we have found the SMG program to be a valuable tool for our staff, enabling us to become a recognized leader in workplace safety”
