Valerie attended the University of Windsor obtaining BA in psychology, she also attended Humber College and completed her diploma in Developmental Service Work. She has experience working with individuals in the developmental disabilities sector, as well as, individuals with acquired brain injuries.
Lead Consultant, Western Division
Jonathan is the lead consultant for Safe Management Group’s western division. He has devoted his entire professional career to the social services sector. Until his move to SMG, he was employed at the Society of Manitobans with Disabilities, as the Director of Provincial Services, where his responsibilities for adult services included the Employment Preparation Center, Thompson Supported Employment Program, Wheelchair Services and Parking Permit Program. Prior to that role, Jonathan was a member of the senior management team of Pulford Community Living Services. In the earlier years of Jonathan’s career, he was part of the team that established the first community-based treatment home for high-risk offenders with developmental disabilities. At that time, he fulfilled roles as Supervisor and Co-Therapist, and subsequently Training Director. His educational background includes a BA in Psychology and a Diploma in Developmental services.

An honours graduate from Wilfrid Laurier university with a major in Criminology and youth and child studies. Deborah has extensive experience working in the developmental disability sector.
Denis Beenen, B.Ed.
Denis has been working with Safe Management as a Trainer & Consultant since 2013. He is the Team Lead for Safe Management Group’s Treatment Homes overseeing the safety of the treatment programs. This role has provided Denis considerable experience working with children and adults with challenging needs. Denis has his Bachelors degrees in Education, and PEH/Kinesiology from the University of Toronto. He has spent over a decade as a martial arts and self-defense instructor teaching movement, awareness, and techniques for personal safety and protection.
Client Services Coordinator
As a past Safe Management Group Trainer and Consultant, Angie brings passion and comprehensive knowledge to her role as Client Services Coordinator. She believes strongly in the value of relationships and customer service. Angie’s 10 years in the education sector, coupled with her training/consulting experience, helps provide clients with the support, resources, and information they require.
Human Resources Manager
Edgar Estrada serves as the Human Resources Manager for Safe Management Group Inc. and brings over 6 years of HR experience. Prior to joining SMG, Edgar worked for a private psychology clinic as well as a regional health authority in Manitoba with 2 unionized employee pools. Edgar has a diverse background in human resources, focusing on the entire recruitment and onboarding cycle, employment legislation compliance as well as performance management and best practices. Edgar graduated with a B.HRM from York University.
Mike has worked in the Adolescent Mental Health sector for 25 years, including a secure Youth Justice facility. He also has experience working with Acquired Brain Injury, teaching Positive Parenting programs, and managing a retirement residence. Over a 32-year period he has trained line staff and trainers in approved Crisis Intervention programs for use in the Mental Health, Youth Justice, Developmental, and Health Care sectors. In this role he has always been committed to improving the safety and well-being of the staff working in these difficult and under-appreciated fields.
Dawn Kidder has been a Trainer Consultant with the Safe Management Group (SMG) since August 2015. Prior to joining the SMG team, Dawn worked in various capacities for 25 years in both residential and community based social services. Throughout her work and experiences, she has had the privilege to meet and support many families; as well as individual children, youth and adults who were struggling with Additions, Mental Health and Homelessness / Street Involvement. Throughout this time Dawn also supported staff teams and community agencies by providing education and training in many areas; including Crisis Management and Compassion Fatigue, Vicarious Trauma and Burn Out. As a Safe Management Trainer Consultant, Dawn provides consultation and education to individuals, staff teams, and agencies in order to promote and increase personal and client safety through the understanding and development of effective prevention and management strategies.

Completed an undergraduate BA psychology degree with thesis at the University of Windsor with a minor in Sociology. Daniel has extensive experience working in the developmental disability sector.
Reshad Popal is the Finance Manager at Safe Management Inc.. He oversees the Finances for Safe Management Inc. and Autism Behaviour Habilitation Services (ABHS). Previously, Mr. Popal served as the Adjunct Business Instructor at the American University of Afghanistan teaching accounting and business subjects. As a Fulbright Scholar, his academic credentials include a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from the Silberman Business School at the Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey, and a Bachelor of Business Administration. Mr. Popal is currently pursuing Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
